Welcome to the Ohio Wind website, managed by the Ohio Wind Working Group (OWWG) and Green Energy Ohio (GEO).
The OWWG is comprised of key stakeholders interested in smart and successful wind energy development in the State of Ohio.
It is funded through matching grants from the Ohio Department of Development’s Office of Energy Efficiency and the United States Department of Energy’s Wind Powering America.
In order to facilitate this the Ohio Wind Working Group pursues following organizational aims:
- Increasing awareness of generation, availability, and use of wind energy in Ohio though public education and outreach programs.
. - Studying avian issues by gathering Ohio specific data on wildlife issues, such as migratory pathways, information on endangered species and the effect of turbine layout, operation, and design.
. - Identifying policy issues that are driving development.
. - Promoting job creation and economic development with the advancement of the wind industry in Ohio.
